Request for Extended Test Time Window

Morgan County Families,

Your student is enrolled in a course that includes taking a required TCAP/End-of-Course test in April. Each
test consists of timed sub-parts given over multiple days. In the Spring of 2022, the State of Tennessee
passed Public Chapter No. 978, allowing students and parents to request additional time at the end of
each sub-part, if needed, to complete the sub-part of the assessment. The Requested Time amount is
calculated at 20% additional time, once the sub-part time is completed. The Requested time begins
immediately following the end of each sub-test.

The test administrator will read testing directions that offer the requested time to all students in the
testing room. This additional time is offered to every student taking the test in standard time and to
students with an IEP, 504 plan or an ILP (Individual Language Plan). Students with the accommodation of
Extended Time, will receive their determined extended time in addition to the optional Requested Time,
if requested.

Per the Public Chapter 978 bill, a parent or student may request this additional time. Students will have
the opportunity to request the time at the end of the standard time of each sub- part of each test.
Parents are given the opportunity to request this additional time prior to the testing window. For the
Spring 2024 TCAP/End-of-Course tests, parents may request this time by completing this Requested Time
Form.
